Wedding Video versus Wedding Photography

One of the key reasons that wedding videography is a better investment than wedding photography is the fact that it captures much more than just still images. A good wedding video will capture the sights, sounds, and emotions of the day in a way that still photos simply cannot. For example, a video can capture the exchange of vows, the couple's first dance, and other special moments in a way that is both moving and authentic.

A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and many couples want to ensure that they have beautiful, lasting memories of their special day. While wedding photography is a traditional way to capture these memories, many couples are now turning to wedding videography as a way to better preserve the sights, sounds, and emotions of their big day.

Another reason that wedding videography is a better investment is that it allows couples to relive their special day in a way that is much more immersive than looking at a photo album. With a wedding video, couples can watch the day unfold from start to finish, reliving the emotions and excitement of the day. This can be a wonderful way to relive the memories of the day, and can even be shared with friends and family who were unable to attend the wedding.

In addition to these benefits, wedding videography can also be a more flexible and versatile way to capture memories. Many videographers are able to offer a range of different services, such as highlight reels, ceremony recaps, and even full-length documentaries of the day. This means that couples can choose the type of wedding video that best suits their needs and budget.

Overall, while wedding photography is a traditional way to capture the memories of a special day, wedding videography offers many more benefits. It captures more of the sights, sounds, and emotions of the day, allows couples to relive their special day in a more immersive way, and offers greater flexibility and versatility. For these reasons, many couples are now choosing to invest in wedding videography over traditional photography.

Why you should hire your wedding photographer and videographer from the same company.

I think it goes without saying, that planning a wedding is a lot of stress and work. I mean, I’ve actually never really done it, since my wife did most of the planning for us almost 12 years ago. (Lol) However, having been a part of nearly 200 weddings, I understand the reality of all of the moving parts, and all of the vendors that you need to get on board and in place.

As you begin planning your wedding, you’ve probably already been tucking away ideas on Pinterest for center pieces, floral arrangements, photography styles, etc. and as you begin to head down the path of vendor hunting, it can be awfully daunting to find vendors who you pair well with and meet the vibe check. And as you begin to look for your photographer and videographer, hopefully your catching the vibe that they play well with others, especially the other party. Like I said, we’ve been a part of nearly 200 weddings, and a handful of those, we have had the honor of being selected as both the photographer and the videographer and let me tell you, it is truly an experience being able to do both of those jobs for our couples. A wonderful experience.

When we are selected as your combined photographer and videographer vendor we take the guess work out of whether a portrait session will be a fight for each person trying to get their shot, who gets to go when, whatever the case may be - since we’re a team and work so seamlessly with one another. As a team, we can have conversations weeks and months before the wedding day, mapping each part of the day, and who will be where when. We bring a level of calmness and coolness that is hard to come by in any other situation. That’s not to say it’s much different if you only hire us for one service, but it is to say how smoothly and uninterrupted the scenario plays out when hiring both.

So, whether it’s May Morning, or another company, consider hiring your wedding day photographer and videographer from the same entity. I doubt you’ll regret it.

Disclaimer: we love all of our photo and video friends, are honored when we get to work alongside then as well. 😊
